Family Business

One thing I hate the most is when Matt has to go out of town for work. It's no fun being home alone all day. And the girls sure do get bored of me. Well, most recently, Matt had to go to Denver. It just so happens that our good friends Amy and Dave live in Denver, so we made the business trip a family vacation!

It was a very long drive, but the girls did fantastic! Better than I could've ever imagined. We did borrow a portable DVD player and that was a lifesaver. I don't know how our parents ever did road trips without one of those on board.

It was fun to see Amy and Dave and their cute family. They have a boy Jack who is two months younger than Madeleine and they got along famously! Neither of them shed a single tear because of the other. They have a cute baby girl, Macy, and although we didn't get any pictures of her, we loved holding her.

Our first afternoon there we helped Amy teach Jack's parent-taught preschool. Madeleine loves school, even if she still isn't quite mature enough to sit still for more than thirty seconds. Then, the next afternoon we went to Monkey Bizness. It's a fun place with blow-up and playground toys to just climb and jump and bounce on. Madeleine loved it and never slowed down. She was hard for me to keep track of (and hard for Jack to keep track of)!

Tori loved this slide and wanted to go down it over and over again.

Saturday we went to the Children's Museum of Denver. It was a very fun place and the kids all had a great time there.

Here's Madeleine as a bee and Tori as a bump on a log.

This fishing boat was the cutest part I thought. Look at those big fish they caught!

Matt also had a good time crawling through the tunnels with the kids.

Here's my shopper. Boy does she love her kitchens, food, and grocery stores.

We had a great time in Denver, and hope to get back again to visit someday. It was much better than being home without Matt. Madeleine was sure disappointed to have to sleep in her own bed again. You would too if you just spent a few nights in a large bed where when you wake up you can have breakfast in bed while watching cartoons. It's a good deal. Also, Madeleine has since mentioned that Jack is cute and her best friend. Thanks, Amy and Dave, for letting us monopolize your long weekend!

Cute! I am glad you had so much fun. That children's museum looks like a lot of fun. As soon as things settle down and we are moved in our new house we are throwing a big party!

Thanks so much for coming! We had a great time. It's always nice to have an excuse to go places like Monkey Bizness & The Children's Museum. Jack keeps asking if Madeleine will be at preschool. And, if you're curious, it went a TON better this week. Not because you guys weren't there, but because I changed how I did a lot of things. Thanks for helping on my first day of experimenting with teaching 2 year olds.
