ARRRRRGGH!!

So I know you probably what to hear about our lovely carpet. Sorry, you’ll have to wait. For as wonderful as it is, I need to just do a little venting. I am so bugged. You see this week has been sick week at the Draper house. A week that hits almost every house at this time of year. Normally it wouldn’t get to me, but it has this time. You see our “sick week” all started with an innocent trip to the library last Friday. (Okay, checking out germy books probably isn’t a good idea, but I wipe them down with Clorox wipes in hopes to kill any harmful germs hanging out there) The problem wasn’t the books, it was a little toddler. He decided to join us in the board book section of our library. He and his deep, hacking cough that is. I immediately thought, “Great this kid’s going to get us sick.” I should left right then, but I hadn’t grabbed any books yet. His mother soon joined us and after hearing him cough, apologetically said, “Sorry, he has a bit of a cold. I guess we shouldn’t be this close to the baby.” Yet, did she leave, no. They continued to hang out and cough. And when they decided to leave, oh don’t worry, the boy helped himself at the drinking fountain. Ahhhhhh! What are people thinking! When we came home I just knew we were going to get sick. And yep, Madeleine now sounds just like that boy did. I just can’t believe how inconsiderate people are. I, like everyone else what to be out of my house after this long winter. But when my child is sick, the last thing I want to do is get other people sick. I understand maybe a quick trip to the grocery store, but the library? Don’t go to the library if your child is sick!! Who absolutely must go to the library with an obviously sick child. That is what the little drop off is for outside of the library! And it wouldn’t be so bad if it were just a little cold, but a hacking cough is not a little cold and is not good for Madeleine. She ends up coughing so hard that she makes herself puke. I’ve cleaned up too muck puke this week for what some other mom thought is just a little cold. And not to mention the fact that it’s finally nice and warm and we are still stuck inside! Grrrr!! Thankfully, Tori has managed to stay well as the rest of us have taken our turns being sick. So there you go. Thanks for letting me vent about what has become one of my pet peeves as a mother. I just hope that all of you reading this are more considerate of others then this mother was. Hopefully we’ll all be better by next week and the warm weather with come back so we can enjoy it.

Oh, and we'll get pictures of the carpet soon. You'll want to see it.
