We're so excited! We are getting so close to finishing our family room we can taste it! We laid the tile in front of the sliding glass door on President's Day. Matt cut it and mixed the cement and we both laid it. Then I grouted it the next day. I must say that we did a pretty good job for our first ever tile job. Thankfully Matt had a girl from work who lent us most of the tiling equipment, including a tile saw.
We also finished painting the walls, baseboards and chair rails. And with that we wish we could say were finished painting, but we're not. We still have to paint the doors now. I can't wait to put away the paint and never get it out again. Much like how we felt after painting the entire interior of our house before moving in. Yeah, we're getting pretty tired of it. Also, Matt and my dad hung doors and put up the baseboards and chair rails Saturday and it's feeling more like an actual room now.
Now the most exciting part is that the carpet is coming tomorrow!! And not just any carpet, it's the Cadillac of carpets. Thick, luscious, soft...the kind you just want to roll up in. And we got it for almost half the price thanks to my grandpa who works for good ol' Shag-Rug-La! I can't wait!! So, we'll post more soon because I'm sure you're now as excited as I am about this carpet.

Looks awesome!!
Those poor second children who never get held! I've heard it just gets worse with the next ones. . . ha ha. Us poor moms who feel guilty for not holding our second babies as much as we held our first!
By the way, the tile and paint look awesome!
Hey Guys,
I am hoping you remember me because otherwise this is going to be really random, actually it's random anyway. I was reading Andrea (Hall) Cutler's blog and she was linked to someone who had your link on her blog...isn't the world wide web fabulous?? ANYWAY I thought that I would pop in and say HELLO :)
Hope life is great.

Hey Kim! Of course we both remember you. Thanks for checking in and leaving a comment. We love comments! Feel free to stop in at the site anytime.
Cool, I bet you'll be glad to get it all done. You'll have to invite us over when you get it finished so we can see it. Plus it has been a long time since we hung out.

Lookin' good, kids. Keep up the good, hard, exhausting work.
P.S... it makes me giggle every time I see that my name in your list of blog links is the only one without an "&" next to it. Teehee.
Don't worry, Haley. This atrocious oversight has been rectified.
By the way, I know a guy who's hiring. Any interest in being a delivery driver? You'll meet lots of interesting people that way!
