Easter

I love Easter. The yummy candy, new dresses, coloring eggs, egg hunts, springtime, flowers and of course the reason we celebrate Easter. It is wonderful to know that through our Savior, Jesus Christ we can live again after death. What a wonderful gift!

Here's a little look at our Easter this year.

It started off with a little neighborhood Easter egg hunt and it was so fun! I hope we do it again next year. Madeleine was a great big sister and helped point out the eggs to Tori.

Here are the cute girls with their loot. It was pretty cold that day, but thankfully the sun was out.

It was so fun to color eggs this year! The girls are both big enough to handle the eggs pretty well (only one egg was dropped), and they were okay with sitting there for an hour coloring the eggs and even wanted to get a little creative. You know, half one color and half another, putting some tape on the egg before coloring it. And they loved the white crayon. Matt and I even got to color some of our own eggs, and I don't think that has really happened for a while.

Henry's big moment of the night was getting to hold the egg his dad colored for him (featuring some sort of generic ball). He didn't even drop it. He's got great hands already! He'll be a fine wide receiver someday.

Then on Saturday and Sunday of Easter weekend we enjoyed General Conference and egg hunts at both grandparents' houses.

Hunting at the Draper's.

It was fun to have some extra hunters this year (including 22 year-old uncle Neil)!

Hunting at the Goodman's. Madeleine gave a good effort at jumping for this egg. She didn't quite make it. Luckily her uncles gave her a hand with the eggs in hard-to-reach places.

We really enjoyed our Easter morning this year (except for the snow). I love it when General Conference falls on Easter. Not only is Easter morning just more relaxed, as we're not rushing around trying to get to church on time, it's just wonderful to listen to so many Conference talks focused on Christ, his atonement and resurrection. So it's a great combination.

Here was Easter morning, after the Easter Bunny came and baskets and eggs were found. We have some good little hunters and only two candy-filled eggs went unfound (and discovered later in the week).

Henry did not find these eggs on his own, believe it or not. These eggs are the ones his sisters shared with him. It was Madeleine's idea to share them since he's too little to hunt. And notice they are all "boy" colors. Madeleine told us that he wouldn't want any pink or purple eggs because he's a boy. So thoughtful.

It was a great Easter! Kids definitely make holidays so much more fun and I can't wait for next year when Henry gets to join in the hunts.

Cute Smiles!

Isn't she cute!! Gotta love that Tori and that cute smile.

Although, there is nothing better than a baby's first smiles.

It starts out with a little of this...

then it grows ...

then he tries even harder to give you that big smile...maybe a little too hard...

then it grows a little sweeter...

until...BAM!! He gives you the big one. Isn't he just so handsome!!?!

I love this boy, I love his smiles and I love that he loves to smile. He is such a happy boy. And you know, his sisters also love this boy.

Tori can't get enough of him and is always wanting to touch and poke and pull on him. He's the best dolly a little girl could ask for.

Madeleine thinks he's super cute and I often find her just gazing at him. I think she loves having a brother.

It's so fun to have a boy in the mix. And although being a mother of three is crazy, I love it! Especially when I get so many smiles.
